1. Will my credit card information be seen by a third party over the Internet?

No. Your credit card information will be encrypted using the industry encryption standard, called Secure Socket Layer (SSL), when transmitted over the Internet to the payment gateway server. SSL is used by many merchant for on-line credit card transactions.

 
2. How do I know if the credit card transaction is encrypted by SSL?

At the credit card information entry form, you should see a LOCK sign at the bottom of your browser. This sign indicates that the connection between you and the payment gateway server is secured by SSL. Your credit card information entered and submitted will be encrypted.

No. Your credit card information will not be seen or kept by Jurliss Flowers. Your credit card information is submitted to the payment gateway server from your PC directly. Hence, it is relatively safer than giving your credit card to the casher when making purchase in a physical store.

Cookie is information written into your PC by the merchant server. This information is actually information entered by the customer during the on-line purchasing process, for example, customer name, email address, etc. This information is used by the merchant to provide personalize service to their on-line customers. For example, by reading the cookie from the customer's PC, the merchant server will be able to greet the customer by name whenever the customer visits the merchant website.

 
5. Will cookies hurt my PC?

No. Cookie will not hurt your PC. Cookies are just simple information about the customer, e.g. name, email address, etc.

Under Jurliss Flowers' implementation, cookie will be written into the customer's PC after the customer has submitted the order form.

Yes. Many on-line merchants use cookies to track customer's last visit to their website and what has the customer last purchased at the merchant website. However, Jurliss Flowers only uses cookie to remember customer's name.
