What is ConsumerTrust?

ConsumerTrust is a Global Reliability Programme that aims to encourage best business practices by merchants and to assist consumers in identifying merchants that they can trust. When consumers visit a store or website bearing the ConsumerTrust trustmark, they will know that this merchant has been audited and meets the standards stipulated in the ConsumerTrust Code of Practice.

By having a global presence, ConsumerTrust also ensures comparable level of protection for consumers across national boundaries. Thus, merchants who adhere to the ConsumerTrust Code of Practice would gain international recognition as trusted and reliable merchants by consumers worldwide.

ConsumerTrust Global Reliability Programme was initiated by CommerceNet Singapore (CNSG) with the primary objective of building trust and confidence and to accelerate the development and promotion of trust in both the physical and internet business environment by providing a benchmarking framework for trust standards.

What is TrustSg?

TrustSg is a nation-wide trust mark initiative by the National Trust Council to boost the electronic commerce (EC) environment in Singapore. This is to help build confidence in e-commerce transactions especially in the area of privacy and security.

To acquire the TrustSg seal, merchants are required to comply with a stringent code of conduct for online business practice set by the NTC. The code covers the area of disclosure, privacy, fulfillment, best business practices, and protection of minors and the elderly.
